Nagstamon is a status monitor for various monitoring systems like Nagios, Icinga, Centreon, and others. It resides in the system tray or on the desktop as a floating status bar to inform you about the status of your network and system monitoring infrastructure. This guide will walk you through the steps to install and configure Nagstamon on your local machine.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

  • A computer with internet access.
  • Administrative rights to install software on your machine.
  • The URL, username, and password for your monitoring server.

Steps to Configure Nagstamon Plugin on Local Machine

1.Download and install nagstamon from here.

2.After installation, configure your monitor server installation:

  • You will be able to see the nagstamon plugin on screen now.
  • Left click it and go to settings.

  • At the first start of Nagstamon a dialog window appears where you have to configure at least one monitor server to check.
  • Configure your monitor server installation:

Monitor type - Nagios

Monitor name - MOnitor server

Monitor URL -http://192.151.147.27/nagios

Monitor CGI URL - http://192.151.147.27/nagios/cgi-bin

Username - nagiosadmin

Password - *******************

  • After that please click checkbox to save the password.
  • Then, click ok.
  • You have successfully installed and configured nagstamon.

HOW TO KNOW THE SERVER IS NORMAL OR CRITICAL:

  • The above icon shows that the server is normal.

  • The above icon shows that the server is down. We must watch the server during the criticall stage.
