Introduction

[edit]

Migrating from one Plesk server to another can be a seamless process if executed correctly. Plesk Migration provides a straightforward method to transfer websites, databases, and other associated data from a source server to a destination server. However, ensuring a successful migration requires careful planning and execution.

Prerequisites

[edit]

Before initiating the migration process, several prerequisites need to be met:

1. Verify Extensions: Check and ensure that all necessary extensions installed on the source server are also available on the destination Plesk panel. This ensures compatibility and functionality post-migration.

2.License for Destination Server: Ensure that the destination server is appropriately licensed for Plesk. A valid license is essential to maintain functionality and support after migration.

3.Network Configuration: Confirm that both the source and destination servers are accessible to each other over the network. Ensure that firewalls and other network configurations permit the necessary communication for migration.

4. Administrator Credentials: Have the administrator credentials for both the source and destination servers handy. These credentials are required during the migration process for authentication and access purposes.

5. DNS Considerations: Plan for DNS updates post-migration. Prepare to update DNS records to point to the new destination server once the migration is successfully completed.
